The beginning of a unicorn party for Juliet's 7 th birthday

Juliet is have a small slumber party for her 7th birthday.  Her two cousins (age, 6 and 22), and out next door neighbor and dear friend. I can't help myself and keep it simple, so I am beginning to make some things. I started with some unicorn pins to  give the girls, and starting with a felt unicorn. Still thinking of what to do with her. Juliet made some details to her with some marker. More to come. . . . .
So I recently threw a party for Juliet's 7th birthday. She wanted a sleepover, so the festivities began with a small party with family and friends.

The theme was unicorns. This is what I had fun doing:
- Pillows for the sleepover - that I had made with a pocket on one side
- Made a unicorn pin to put on the girls as they came over, and a cute necklace
- A doll for each girl to play with that I found downtown
- Geodes to break, so each girl could have their own crystal
- Craft # 1: We colors on a onsie to put on the oversized doll
- Craft #2 - We decorated hair brushes with colored rhinestone
- Craft #3 _ I made a unicorn out of clay, and the girls painted it. It is now an ornament
- Made some cupcake toppers using a silhouette of a unicorn
- Centerpiece #1 - Used a jar filled with sand and put a unicorn inside with a fairy.
- Centerpiece #2 - Glues gold paper on a cut out cardboard circle, and using the same unicorn design from the cupcake topper, enlarged and glued on top of gold paper, added a chopstick for the stack and put in arrangement. I also added some tissue paper flowers.

In the end the party decor and event was a success. Unfortunately, Juliet was not so happy as some of the sleepover guests opted out in the end. So that was a bummer. I will wait on a sleepover in the future til she and her friends are older.

Juliet's Birthday card image and Recipe Card Swap

I used this image for Juliet's Birthday card. Pretty fun. I love when I hear the sound of the ice cream truck. I am reminded that life is still innocent and sweet.

I was involved in a recipe swap, and here are some of the cards.

Portrait of Juliet at 5 months

I did this as a gift for my mother-in-law. She mentioned a site where you can get a paint by number kit of any picture from any picture you upload. I felt guilty if I used the kit, so I did it myself using gouache.
